Here are some photos from yesterday’s march in Buenos Aires (La Marcha Federal de Orgullo Antifascista and Antiracista), organized by the LGBTQ+ community, human rights organizations, student groups, and unions.
Please be careful. Unless you are a citizen, being involved in a protest in another country is illegal and you could lose whatever immigration status/visa you have. But it sounds like even being a citizen in Argentina will not protect you. ): May the grace of conviction protect you and lead to good.
Thanks for your concern. What you describe only holds if a protest is illegal and/or one is doing something prohibited under Argentine law (say, trespassing or defacing property). In that case, yes: technically I could lose my status, as you say. But this protest happened with all the proper permits. No one, by going to the rally, was breaking any law. The city authorities were out, but only to control traffic flow and see to any medical issues. The march was entirely peaceful - and legal. Cheers.
It's wonderful to see people all over the world standing up for LGBTQ rights ❤️. Although obviously enraging that it is needed. Thank you for sharing your photos.
Hi Richard, We are very happy to have your posts again. The protests should be a precursor to what should be happening worldwide and particularly here in the U.S. Fascism is rearing its ugly head and it must be resisted. On another note, please continue to share your musical journey with us. Best wishes.
Beautiful shots, wonderful people….. Can you please send those 100,000 beautiful people to the US where response to Trump’s destruction of democratic norms appears to have been a big yawn, as opposed to the MILLIONS who marched after his first election…..
Wonderful street photography and social commentary. We need to be doing this in the U.S. Not sure what we are all waiting for. Too shell shocked, I guess.
Good for you! We were protesting here in Geneva, New York, yesterday, nominally in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors who are under siege, but more generally against the abrupt fascist shift in our country.
Hello @Greg Dennis kindly support us by donating to save the lives of climate activists in hospitalized after brutally beaten by Ugandan police for protesting against the EACOP project and fossil fuels in Africa . Thank you 🙏
Oh what joy it is to hear from you after these many months, Richard! We need you always, and even more so during this heartbreaking time. Do whatever you can to support these causes so many of us are devoted to, and by all means, please keep yourself and loved ones safe.
I consider your return an early birthday gift. Thank you! These photos lifted my heart. I especially like the one where the guy is carrying a sign with Milei's hair over the X. His expression is priceless.
I'm looking forward to the new single Richard....glad to see the march in BA. Hopefully, we will awaken from the shock of megatrumpism and demand a continuation of our constitutional republic.
Good to see! Thank you
Great shots! Great to have you back, Richard. It's encouraging to see public life in all its color. (The B&W leaves something to the imagination!)
