Thanks Richard, for the insights into the inner workings of the amazing music you create. I love the intimacies and intricacies of the whole process. You have shown what a struggle it can sometimes be. It is wonderful to be a fly on the wall. We are really looking forward to seeing you next month in Novato.
Hi Stephen. I'm so glad you followed the lead. And that we agree! I'll let my pal David know. Not only does he producer her recordings, he's frequently a co-writer.
Back in the 90s I started a job in Nashville that I had a long commute to. I found that everyone played some instrument so we formed a band. Getting drums on a plane didn't work so I found Zendrum. Its a midi that let's you play drums somewhat like a guitar. You hook it to to any midi box and you play with your fingers. It may be something that could fit well in your set up. It takes up no space and takes just a short while to adapt to. I have their older Z4 , its been replaced by their ZX, along with a Roland TD-10 box.
If you needed more song examples elevated to the rank of poems, the opposite of what you are describing on your last paragraph, I just posted that yesterday. It is a literary analysis of Nací en el Mediterráneo...the infamous masterpiece by Serrat...After all these years in the US, I miss the Med every day. It's just the historical richness of all Mediterranean cultures present in the song, and the ebbs and flows of the Med impersonated as a woman here... Bonus, if you needed a brush up on all your poetic figures of speech in Spanish, you´ll enjoy this! (and don't forget to check Serrat with Noa on this song, instead of the classic duet with Ana Belén): https://www.hispanismodelmagreb.com/es-naci-en-el-mediterraneo-un-poema1/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFYsg1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHVV-QRe39hepNailpkjYQtX6ricdmgXhD8mJQn7yASfecWYeg0ZEnv4UgA_aem_6ox8_QEQXy00csSXrQR7jA
Serrat is genius, on the same level as Dylan or Cohen or Joni Mitchell. Around here he is revered. Thanks for pointing toward that version. I read the analysis. Excellent. Thank you. In return, go check out "The Black Maria" by Aracelis Girmay. El Mediterráneo figura como protagonista allí tambien, pero en otro contexto.
I truly can't wait for this album. I just listen to Unconditional , wow !!! Thanks for sharing, if you ever want to visit and play on kauai , I can help .
Wasn't Illya Kuryaki in a band with Napoleon Solo? 🤔
The Man from Uncle! Yes. I had forgotten. But in the show it's spelled Kuryakin. More to obsess over
I know but the joke wouldn't work with an "n"!
Well then I don't get the joke. Please explain!
I was going to write Napoleon Sol but figured it might be a bit cryptic.
Agents with a missing end letter in their name.
That's why I didn't post it ☹️
Blood is purely analog! Nicely done!
But often sampled.

Seen you there!
Synergy, blood, heartbeats, and poetry. Nice combination. ❤️
Thanks for the tip on Clara Ballestero. She is wonderful.

More gear. I'm on it.
Thanks for sharing the continuing evolution of your beautiful songs. The new album is going to be wonderful. Can't wait!
Nothing like the thump of an acoustic drum kit. The trouble is playing loud enough to be heard when they are playing.
Leo Fender solved that problem circa 1950!
